This small, framed painting captures a moment in the life of a river, with banks glinting with summer sunlight and skies dusted with wispy clouds. It's one of those days that calls for a boat ride on the river at a leisurely speed—no need to rush because there is no true destination, just time on the water. Down here in the Florida Panhandle, we try to spot the occasional alligator on such days, and we try to get as close to the eagle's nest as we can without disturbing the majestic bird.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—painting is a daily exercise for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. As an assemblage artist, exploring this medium opens up a different portal, so to speak. Different textures, colors, shapes, and even sounds, emerge with each new piece. My goal is to create work that represents how I see the world around me, and at the same time, work that others can bring into their own surroundings and attach to it their own interpretation.
