This found-object assemblage contains everything a lover of books would need—a bottle for ink, a collection of antique writing pens, a pair of antique reading glasses, and a special compartment for storing beloved texts.
On the lefthand side of the antique box is a small compartment where you can store your own tiny treasures. Inside is a surprise—a small book with two quotes from "Little Women": "I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship" and "I'd rather take coffee than compliments just now." You can store you own tiny treasures with it—a favorite poem or a bit of inspiring text.
On the righthand side of the box is an Alcott quote from her novel, "Work: A Story of Experience," which reads, "She was too fond of books, and it has turned her brain."
The assemblage measures 7" x 8.5" when fully opened, and it is designed to be displayed on a bookshelf or table with your other treasures.

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
