Truly unique, this block of original abstract paintings makes a small statement on a shelf or tabletop. Three sides of the block feature miniature paintings, one side features a 19th-century etching of quill and paper, and one side features an excerpt from a poem by Emily Dickinson, which reads, "There is no frigate like a book."
I call these "art blocks" because, well, they are blocks of art, with five sides of a wood block presenting coordinating pieces of miniature art. Done in cold wax and oil on archival paper, the paintings are mounted to a wood cube, with the bottom finished with matte paint. Display it on a shelf or tabletop or in a curio cabinet with your other treasures.
Dust lightly with a soft cloth or duster, and keep away from small hands. The piece is meant to be enjoyed and only handled gingerly for long-term care.
Size: a 3" cube
Medium: cold wax and oil

MY ARTIST STATEMENT—Painting is a daily ritual for me, as I continue to discover ways to express myself through art. My goal is to create artwork that represents how I see the world around me—or how I hope it could be, a place where mercy, benevolence, and peace are commonplace and can be found around any corner, under any tree, or beside any stream. At the same time, I desire to create meaningful work that others forge a deep connection to and bring into their own home as a unique expression of who they are.
