Welcome to my studio. I am an artist working with oil and cold wax, which allows for flexibility of shape and texture. I create spaces I'd like to stand in [a lush landscape], objects I'd like to hold [a beautiful flower], or inspiring ideas [a favorite memory]. I have lived in several states—New Jersey, Alabama, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. And I have lived in various environments—the city, the suburbs, small towns, and now a beach town. Each of these experiences comes through in my work.
Birch panels and archival paper are my “canvases,” and the different surfaces provide varying inspiration. My wood paintings are finished and ready to hang, with no frames necessary, although sometimes I get a little crazy and actually frame them. And paintings on paper are presented unframed with backboards so you are free to frame and mat them as you wish.
Here in my studio, a large space in our home, I might put down my painting tools and set aside my work apron to read in one of my comfy chairs, or I might pull out my music stand and play a few tunes on my French horn, which lives here under my desk, or I might catch my breath while texting with a distant family member. So, this beloved space is just packed with inspiration. Come on in and have a look around.
